Top 15 essential qualities of an Entrepreneur

Since I became interested in business, I have accompanied many Entrepreneurs. I was fortunate enough to understand what made a good Entrepreneur different from a bad Entrepreneur.

I have identified some characteristics common to the success that I am offering you here.

1. Be Determined

The Entrepreneur must be determined in his projects. As soon as he creates his company, he must know how far he wants to go, how to get there, and put everything he knows into practice. Nothing and no one should stop it.

The determined person is the one who finds no excuse not to move forward.

Warning: Do not confuse determination and stubbornness.

Determination is having a specific goal and doing what it takes to achieve it.

Stubbornness is always repeating something that doesn’t work, thinking that it will work one day.

You have to know how to accept defeats, failures, and bounce back from them. You also have to know how to accept criticism and never be discouraged, ever.

“When everything seems to be against you, remember that the plane takes off into the wind, not with it”. Henry Ford

2. Don’t be Afraid of Running Out of Money

The beginnings are not always obvious. If you don’t start a web business with a blog, it will likely cost you over ₹2000, you might have a loan to repay, and customers won’t be there from the start.

The Entrepreneur is not afraid of not paying himself a salary at the beginning. He has already planned Savings and knows that the Money does not necessarily go into the Fund right away.

If so, so much the better, otherwise he knows what to expect. The money will come later if it is determined and if it finds enough customers for its activity.

3. Be Organized & Know How to Plan

Entrepreneur

He is also very organized and knows exactly when to go to work, and precisely what to do. He’s also planned out everything he’s going to do in the coming year and knows what to expect. We make a plan and we follow it.

Of course, you can’t plan everything. There will be unforeseen events, that’s obvious. But fixing these unforeseen events does not mean destroying his plan and his objectives!

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act but also dream; not only plan but also believe. ” Anatole France

4. Have a Strong Taste for Freedom

In general, he has a burning desire for freedom. He is looking to take control of his life, his future, and doesn’t want to be held accountable to anyone. He is ready to work hard and is happy to earn a minimum wage while having his freedom although his possibilities are enormous.

“We have only one freedom: the freedom to fight to conquer freedom …” Henri Jeanson

The feeling of freedom is important to many entrepreneurs.

5. Be Disciplined

He is also very disciplined. Having planned and organized all his weeks: appointments, tasks to accomplish, he sticks to them and never lets himself go (it happens but as often as possible).

Despite the problems that arise, he knows how to stick to what he has planned and does not deviate from it. If he has to depart from it, it is exceptional and finds a way to fill the lack of action.

We realize the importance of discipline by observing medieval wars. The more disciplined armies, which stuck to the plan despite everything (even with immense fear), always emerged victoriously. Acting under the emotions is not the best thing, that’s why it is important to be organized, and disciplined.

“Discipline is the mother of success. Aeschylus

6. Have Confidence in Yourself & Your Project

An entrepreneur has confidence in his idea, in his business. In general, if he starts, it is because he feels that his business has potential, otherwise why start?

This confidence, he must not lose it. It is by having confidence in himself, in his project, in his ideas and his work, that he will keep his motivation, find new ideas to energize all this.

An extremely important quality, therefore!

“If you have confidence in yourself, you will inspire confidence in others “Goethe

7. Be Sociable & Open Minded

To be successful, the entrepreneur will need to be very open-minded.

This allows him, among other things, to discuss everything with everyone. The possibilities of meeting people are therefore greatly increased. Thus it is possible to create a relatively large address book, which is a major asset in the creation of a business.

Having a network, knowledge that can one day help us out, or lead to a partnership, or even better.

Having contact, being very social is a huge advantage when running a business.

8. Be Creative

To be successful, the entrepreneur must acquire a bit of creativity. Having creativity allows him to find ideas that will allow him to grow his company. To be ahead of the competition, to find still untapped markets, or to attract new customers.

It is often the most creative who succeed.

We are not talking about being the new Picasso here.

We talk about doing things differently from others.

“The businesses that will survive tomorrow are those that encourage creativity today.” Maurice Zeldman

9. Be Passionate

The entrepreneur is passionate. It is the engine of its motivation besides. Passion is an extremely important motivator. If you want to start your business, it is recommended to deal with one of your passions so as not to give up after 6 months.

Successful entrepreneurs have a great capacity for work because they are passionate about their work.

They are first and foremost passionate about business, business creation and management. They are also passionate about building contact and anything that helps a business grow.

10. Be Tolerant of Failures

Everyone goes through failures. Entrepreneurs too. Some are big failures since they lead to bankruptcy, and others less important. This is about adopting a different way of seeing things.

Yes, we will have failures. Yes, we are going to screw up. But we’re going to get up.

The entrepreneur takes risks all the time. He tests, he tests all the time. But he is tolerant and knows he can very well make a mistake, make a bad decision, and lose money. But the simple test lets him know what works and what doesn’t.

What if that makes a big deal?

He always sees the bright side and doesn’t worry about the bad. Of course, he still provides solutions.

11. Be Optimistic

As I mentioned in the previous point, the entrepreneur is a great optimist! Yes, he has already embarked on the creation (or takeover) of a business, which means that he is confident about his project.

It’s going to work!

It is often said that a contractor is someone who jumps off a cliff without a parachute, and makes one during the fall.

He has complete confidence in what he plans to do and never lets the negative side get the better of him. It is solution-oriented rather than problem-oriented!

The stress? Yes, he knows, but he uses it to motivate himself, stimulate himself, move forward!

12. Training

He is constantly seeking to develop his business. He must therefore train constantly, train employees. He does competitive intelligence, reads books to improve sales, takes training courses to have better communication, and keeps abreast of new technologies.

As soon as he goes to a competitor he knows how to spot good ideas, what can work and he notes everything to test!

Always train!

13. Knowing How to Make Decisions

The entrepreneur is generally a leader, a leader. He knows how to make decisions, and is not hesitant. This is a very important characteristic, and common to all entrepreneurs: they have already decided to create their company.

He, therefore, knows how to make choices, and accepts to make mistakes when faced with his choices, but one thing is certain: he always acts. Better to do something and be wrong, than to be left with a decision for the rest of your life.

Action is therefore its main ally.

Sometimes he will be wrong, it is the prerogative of even the greatest.

The main? Make mistakes as little as possible and rectify when necessary.

14. Knowing How to Delegate

To be able to focus on important tasks, and think 80/20 (Pareto law), he had to learn to delegate. Delegating well is important because there can be complications if you do not know how to do it, and if the person to whom you delegate is wrong, it is not good at all.

He, therefore, knows how to correctly explain everything to do, detail, and above all choose carefully the person to whom he delegates. This is an important point when it comes to working weeks of 70 hours or more. Despite the passion, work surrounds us too much, and we no longer know how to take a step back from our work. It is therefore impossible to find new ideas, to optimize your business, to train.

Do not hesitate, for example, to use my services to develop your sales!

15. Be Prepared to Make Concessions

He is aware that everything is negotiated. And that he will have to make some concessions for certain cases so that the company is doing as well as possible. It will sometimes have to cede advantages to its most loyal customers. He will also have to spend more time at work sometimes to be able to fulfil a contract. He must be able to work under pressure, and he is ready for it.
